Spiritual Gifts

Review the gifts, revisit the teaching if needed, and complete the assessment to help identify your top 3 areas of gifting.

Understanding Spiritual Gifts

Spiritual gifts are special attributes given by the Holy Spirit to build up the body of Christ. They are given for the common good and are meant to help the church reflect the love, truth, and power of God.

At Prairie Creek, we have been exploring spiritual gifts through Sunday worship and Wednesday Gifts Lab. This page is designed to give you a brief review of the gifts, provide resources if you want to revisit the teaching, and help you complete the assessment.

Resources for Review

If you would like to revisit the teaching before completing the assessment, use the resources below.

John Thompson’s video teachings on spiritual gifts have been a valuable resource for us as a church.

Because Thompson is a Reformed pastor and Prairie Creek is part of the Global Methodist Church, there are places where our theological views differ. One such distinction is how we understand salvation and being filled with the Holy Spirit. As Methodists, we believe these may happen simultaneously, but the filling of the Holy Spirit may also take place later in a believer’s life.

We offer these videos as a helpful resource alongside Scripture, prayer, and the teaching of the church.

Complete the Assessment
